Invopop
Turned Notion into their CMS to create and manage 50+ invoicing guides.
“Whalesync gives us peace of mind. With Whalesync, I know my data is syncing reliably - it’s seamless and lets us focus on scaling our business.”
Invopop (YC W23) is on a mission to simplify global invoicing and tax compliance. With support for invoicing in 25 countries and data on regulations for 60, the company provides businesses with a single API that automates compliances with any invoice format around the world.
To manage this wealth of information, Invopop relies on the flexibility of Notion to organize detailed country-by-country data. But this data also needs to flow into Webflow, where it powers customer-facing resources like their invoicing guide.
Connecting their Webflow site with Notion to power these pages was a critical challenge for co-founder Juan Moliner and his team, who needed a robust, reliable solution to avoid time-intensive manual updates and ensure data consistency across platforms.
That’s where Whalesync came in.
Turning Notion into a full-blown CMS
Managing global invoicing data isn’t straightforward. Invopop organizes its data in Notion using relational fields to link records—like tax rates, customer details, and regulations—by country. For example, all regulations linked to Colombia are associated with a single country record, ensuring the data remains clean and easy to navigate.
This sophisticated relational structure posed challenges for traditional integration tools. Solutions like Zapier or Make couldn’t handle two-way syncs effectively, often requiring manual workarounds that were error-prone and time-consuming. Juan recognized that Whalesync’s purpose-built, two-way sync capabilities would provide a more reliable and scalable solution.
“Whalesync handled Notion’s relational fields effortlessly,” Juan explains. “It’s designed for syncing databases, so it just works better than anything else we tried.”
Deeply connected, instantly
For Juan, the true value of Whalesync lies in the peace of mind it provides. Unlike manual integrations like Zapier, which require constant monitoring and troubleshooting, Whalesync ensures data stays in sync so you get the best of both worlds across apps like Notion and Webflow.
“Knowing that Whalesync will update automatically if Webflow or Notion changes their APIs is huge for us,” Juan says. “I don’t have to worry about losing records or data inconsistencies—it just works.”
