Top 10 Airtable Integrations to Unlock the Power of Airtable

A no-nonsense guide to the best Airtable integrations, extensions, and apps.

At its core, Airtable is a spreadsheet platform — but it’s a lot more than that. With built-in automations and powerful data organization capabilities, Airtable lets you build and manage complex databases from a single source of truth.

There’s a lot you can do with Airtable alone. But when you add Airtable integrations to the mix, you can build a powerhouse of a workflow. Integrations let you link Airtable data to popular platforms for a wide variety of business functions — no more toggling between tools, and no more worrying about teams being in the loop.

When you’re looking to integrate Airtable into your tech stack, you can choose from native and third-party integrations. In this blog post, we’ll talk about the benefits of both, and we’ll share 10 of our favorite Airtable integrations for amping up business processes.

Native Airtable integrations vs. third-party Airtable integrations

Airtable developers have built their own custom integrations directly into Airtable’s API. These are native integrations. Third-party integrations involve the use of iPaaS software (such as Whalesync) to connect Airtable with other tools.

Native Airtable integrations are owned and managed by the Airtable team, so they’re designed to give you more access to Airtable’s functionality. They’re easy to set up, and they don’t come with the cost of third-party apps. The flip side, though, is that native integration options are limited to the tools that Airtable has set up syncs for.

Third-party Airtable integrations let you access a broader range of platforms, so you’re likelier to find a way to link to the tools you’re already using. Plus, third-party apps like Whalesync offer two-way syncing, which a lot of the native integrations don’t have. To get the most out of Airtable, we recommend using a mix of native and third-party integrations.

The top 10 Airtable integrations

In the sections below, we’ll discuss each of these integrations in detail — you can use them to build a unified tech stack across business functions.

  1. HubSpot
  2. Jira
  3. Notion
  4. Slack
  5. Salesforce
  6. Asana
  7. Google Sheets
  8. Shopify
  9. Webflow
  10. Miro

1. Airtable HubSpot integration

Integration type: Third-party

Best for: Sales teams

HubSpot remains a gold standard for CRMs, and an Airtable HubSpot integration gives you an easy way to manage all your customers from a single platform. You can make bulk edits and run the analytics you need, all from within the familiar feel of a spreadsheet.

And Whalesync has an excellent two-way Airtable HubSpot integration that can help with this! We offer handy template packs that cover every single field, as well as packs that cover just a core set of fields (called HubSpot - Simple) for people who are just getting started. You can get started with a free Airtable account — set up a Whalesync base, authorize access to HubSpot and Airtable, and let the automatic sync do the rest.

2. Airtable Jira integration

Integration type: Native

Link: Airtable Jira integration

Best for: Project managers

If you manage software development projects, the Airtable Jira integration is your best friend! This native Airtable integration lets you link an issue in Jira (based on specific filters) to a corresponding new record in Airtable. Any updates are reflected in real time, so teams can resolve open tasks faster.

However, it’s important to note that you get the Airtable Jira integration only with the Airtable Business Plan. And if you want to integrate with Jira Server, you’ll need to sign up for the Enterprise plan.

3. Airtable Notion integration

Integration type: Third-party

Best for: Content management

You might know Notion as a content management platform, but it’s great for data management, too! You can create Notion databases from new Airtable records or update existing records from either platform — this makes collaborating with your content team much easier.

Let’s say your marketing team uses Airtable to track its projects, while your product team uses Notion. With the Airtable Notion integration, your marketing and product teams can always stay in the loop about collaboration updates. Every time there’s a project status update in Airtable, the Notion team gets notified, and vice versa.

Whalesync offers a bidirectional Airtable Notion integration to help you sync databases across relevant attributes. As with the Airtable HubSpot integration, all you need to do is authorize access to each platform on a new Whalesync base and then click on Sync. Any updates you make in one will be instantly reflected in the other.

4. Airtable Slack integration

Integration type: Native

Link: Airtable Slack integration

Best for: Communication

The native Airtable Slack integration lets you sync messaging between the two platforms with Airtable Automations. Whenever someone submits a form on Airtable, or when there’s a change to your Airtable inventory, you immediately get a notification in your Slack channel.

5. Airtable Salesforce integration

Integration type: Native

Link: Airtable Salesforce 2-way sync

Best for: Enterprise sales teams

This is one of the most useful integrations available for sales teams. You can sync Salesforce report data to an Airtable base and set up automatic updates. You can also use Airtable Automations to update your Salesforce lead information right from an Airtable base, no copying and pasting needed. The result? Up-to-date customer records, which leads to more efficient communication and can speed up the customer lifecycle. To access this integration, though, you’ll need to upgrade to the Airtable Business plan.

Another option for Airtable Salesforce syncing is Whalesync (us 😄). We offer a two-way sync between Salesforce and Airtable for when you need to be able to update data in Airtable and have it sync with Salesforce.

6. Airtable Asana integration

Integration type: Native, third-party

Best for: Cross-team collaboration

Asana is one of the most popular project management tools, and with the Airtable Asana integration, you have a structured way to organize all your documents, images, and other project assets.

Airtable has a native Asana integration, but that basically involves you uploading a CSV file — not very helpful. Instead, you may look to Zapier’s Airtable x Asana integration, which is pretty easy to set up. You can add Asana tasks to an Airtable base, automatically update Asana assets when you update your Airtable data, or grant document access to specific teammates on either platform.

7. Airtable Google Sheets integration

Integration type: Third-party

Best for: Spreadsheet wizards

Airtable may have more extensive functionality, but Google Sheets is still a fan favorite —  especially for people who are used to the look and feel of Microsoft Excel. With an Airtable Google Sheets integration, you can effortlessly sync spreadsheets across both tools.

Let’s say your marketing team uses Airtable to manage your e-commerce storefront, while your procurement team uses Google Sheets to manage inventory. If you integrate Airtable with Google Sheets, your procurement team instantly gets notified whenever an online purchase comes through. Similarly, if you’re running low on an item, your marketing team can know right away and can use that opportunity to launch a “last chance” sale on the storefront.

8. Airtable Shopify integration

Integration type: Third-party

Link: Airtable Shopify 2-way sync

Best for: E-commerce

If you’re running an e-commerce business, you can’t do much better than Shopify. And with the Airtable Shopify integration, you have an easy and powerful way to manage your inventory and orders in a spreadsheet.

Conducting a storewide sale? Add a bulk discount to your inventory in Airtable (or select specific product categories), and the new prices are instantly reflected on your Shopify storefront. Someone returned an item? Your inventory count for that SKU goes up by one.

Whalesync gives you a powerful bidirectional sync for managing and editing data across your store. We have a handy Shopify template for Airtable that you can just copy and paste — it’s got all the fields you need. Authorize access to Shopify and Airtable on a new Whalesync base (follow our tutorial to see how), and you’re all set.

9. Airtable Webflow integration

Integration type: Third-party

Best for: Programmatic SEO

Webflow is your go-to for building beautiful, responsive websites without the bother of coding. And with a Webflow Airtable integration, you can map Airtable fields to your Webflow CMS and edit your site directly from the Airtable spreadsheet! With Whalesync, you can set up custom workflows by choosing exactly which tables and fields to map to each other. Here’s a quick tutorial to get you started.

10. Airtable Miro integration

Integration type: Native

Link: Airtable Miro integration

Best for: Brainstorming

Miro’s collaboration platform lets you quickly spin up a virtual whiteboard. When you install the native Airtable Miro integration, you can fuel your creative brainstorms with the power of data.

This integration is perfect for teams that need some extra help translating their ideas into actionable workflows. Let’s say your marketing team uses Miro to brainstorm a new process for repurposing blog posts into tweets. When you integrate Miro with Airtable, you can convert those ideas into a structured step-by-step workflow — so you don’t have to interrupt the flow of your freeform thoughts!

Getting started with Airtable integrations

Airtable is one of the best data management platforms out there, and with Airtable integrations, your teams can collaborate no matter what tools they use. We’re big fans of Airtable here at Whalesync, and we love using Whalesync + Airtable.
